With distribution channels al- ready in place, these companies are well-placed to bring new products to market successfully. Hugely success- ful, these new entrants are adding to an increasingly crowded market. The perfumery market is seeing a great number of launches, though few survive the first year. Younger consumers today often have three or four fragrances in use at the same wood as a packaging material with the cap produced for Burberry Touch back in 2003. Since then, it has pushed the trend for wood in the sector with original creations. Guerlain, Shiseido, Lalique and Jean Patou are among the brands who have incorporated our wooden com- ponents into their fragrance packs. Its differential value is undeniable, but the appeal of wood goes much further: wood adds a sensory experi- ence to a pack – you can feel its tex- ture, sense its natural origins. Each piece is the only one of its kind in the world, with its own unique grain pattern, like a piece of nature just for you. Technotraf’s FSC and PEFC cer- tifications ensure that its products are sourced from sustainable forests. F amous FMCG brands are launching their own fragrance ranges. Young people are using on average four fragrances simulta- neously. Samples and mini sizes are flying off the shelves, representing 10% of retail sales. All in all, these are busy and exciting times in the perfumery sector. Introducing … wood! As a packaging provider, key among our strengths is the Technotraf wood factory, part of our Manufacturing Division in Spain, in the heart of Catalonia’s Cosmetic Valley. Here, wooden components are created for beauty packaging, from finely-craft- ed caps to wood-enclosed bottles.
