It brings smoothness, brightness and combing in both wet and dry hair. Finally, a certified organic solu tion addresses effective conditioning of the hair. Beracare Triple A system uses a syn ergistic combination of Copaiba res in, Andiroba and Acai oils. This blend is naturally rich in beta-caro phyllene, flavonoids and limonids with proven anti-inflammatory and bactericidal activity, along with se bum balancing properties, making it ideal to effectively treat and address acne conditions. It has been proven in vivo to: • reduce the number of acne le sions by up to 39.6% in 6 weeks and as much as 42.9% in 8 weeks; • reduce the number of new acne lesions by up to 45% in 6 weeks and up to 55% in 8 weeks; and • reduce the oiliness of skin by up to 59% in 6 weeks and 79% in 8 weeks. Beracare ADA is an organic combi nation of Copaiba balsam and Brazil nut oil, this blend is particularly rich in naturally occurring beta-caryo phyllene, selenium, omega-6 fatty acids and flavonoids to provide anti-seborrheic and anti-inflamma tory skin benefits. It is specifically recommended to balance oily, com bination skin and those prone to ac ne as well as in hair care to address oily hair and flaking of scalps. The power of green Another company with multiple cer tified organic offerings is Greentech. Their Organic portfolio includes the following ingredients: Organic Lipactive Inca Inchi WO is an interesting oil obtained from Inca Inchi seeds, apparently the world’s richest seed source of omega 3 fatty acids. An essential component of cell membrane structures, omega 3 fatty acids provide a very bio-mimet ic protective epidermal lipid barrier whilst being non-comedogenic and non-irritating. In vitro, it has been proven to increase keratinocyte proliferation by 19% for effective cellular and epidermal regeneration; while in vivo it has been proven to improve skin suppleness by 66% and the sensation of comfort and moisturisation by 83% within 28 days. For the hair, it tested positively on nearly 100% of consumers to boost volume, improve combing and reduce tangling. Under micros copy evaluation, it was also shown to smooth and repair the hair cu- ticle for softer, shinier and stronger hair. Tilicine Organic has been proven ef fective in shampoo (wash off) for mulations. This Linden bud extract is rich in naturally occurring poly saccharides to coat and protect the hair, resulting in smoother cuticles and a noticeable reduction in tan gling. Consumer tests showed 83% believed their hair had greater moisture, 60% responded to more volume and 70% of respondents no ticed a reduction in static. This ac tive was also shown to be effective to prevent trans-epidermal water loss in skin care due to its film form ing and natural moisturising factors; making it particularly suited and proven to improve hydration by up to 33% within 1 hour and up to 46% after 8 hours. Epica Organic is a combination of pine bark and black currant leaf extracts so you would expect this material to have strong antioxidant activity, and this is what it certainly delivers. In vitro tests have shown it to inhibit free radicals by over 90%, inhibit elastase by 75% and colla genase by over 50%. This means it provides a very good protective ef fect on collagen and elastin fibres and is particularly suited for after sun products to restore the epider mal matrix and quench free radicals after UV exposure. Cariciline Organic is a gelled fig ex tract rich in polysaccharides and malic acid with clinically proven hy dration and moisturising benefits. It works to regulate water loss through the skin with a significant refreshing effect. In vivo, 100% of volunteers noted its soothing effect after appli cation; while hydration tests showed up to 91% greater hydration after 1 hour and up to 38% continued hy dration after 8 hours. Its soothing and hydrating effects make it par ticularly suited to ‘wellness’ prod ucts marketed toward a holistic an ti-stress skin benefit. The choice of organic actives is growing The current certified organic active ingredients provide numerous choices that not only have extensive in vitro and in vivo proven results, but also appealing marketing stories because of their source. The trend for natural and organic products continues to grow, year on year, and with suppliers providing options like these we’ll see more certified or ganic actives become available in time for even great choice and for mulation flexibility.
