This year’s packaging exhibition, Embal- lage 2014* from 17th to 20th November in Paris, features 1,500 exhibitors with 50% being international companies. Here we provide an overview of what events and new products will be on show. PRODUCTION EVENTS Emballage 2014 All to do with packaging The global cosmetics packaging market, which according to Smithers Pira studies will reach US-$ 24 billion in 2016, has an average annual growth rate of 4.2% photo:Emballage Emballage events at a glance The area Pack Innovation is a showcase dedicated to the exhibitors’ latest innovations and trends. After they have pre- sented their new products to the organisers on an online plat- form, and after a pre-selection has been made, they are submitted for voting by an interna- tional jury of journalists specialised in packaging, including Angelika Meiss from COSSMA, to determine the official selection. From this selection the Pack Experts Innovation Awards are chosen. Pack Vision is a conference cycle to take stock of future regulatory changes, decipher business trends and understand the challenges faced by other countries. For the third time the Best Pack exhibition in cooperation with the French design school Strate presents design by students from five international design schools including France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Turkey in a 200 m2 area in Hall 6. They have selected from each of the six Emballage sectors Beverages & Liquids, Food, Luxury products, Beauty, Health and Multi-industry, packaging that truly reflects their national markets and to propose a better alternative with a packaging design approach. This year’s additional challenge for the students is to work on current issues in a workshop and present the results in the TV studio on the last day of the exhibition. An exhibition of award-winning work from the Dieline Awards 2014, the fifth international competition, will be featured with its founder, Andrew Gibbs. There is a Sustainable Pack- aging award, too. The Dieline Summit is a new meeting place dedicated to packaging design at the Palais des Congrès, on 16th and 17th of November 2014. Since 2010, a TV studio dedicated to industry news broadcasts live and provides a discus- sion platform. The Symop Forum located at the heart of the business arena presents speak- ers, presentations and informal discussions to build a clear vision of the market and the solutions available. www.all4pack.com/emballage The often complex packaging formats for cosmetic products are reliably packed by a robot with suction and grip functions into the erected containers.
